Based in Nashville,
Tennessee, the Women’s Football
League (WFL) began play in 2002. Like
a few other women’s football
organizations, WFL is a non-profit
organization governed by its team
owners. To date, WFL has 12 teams,
including: Alabama Racers, Atlanta
Xtreme, DC Slammers, Fayetteville
Thunder, Florida Typhoons, Kentucky
Force, Louisiana Gators, Memphis Maulers,
Mississippi Rapids, South Carolina
Raptors, Tennessee Hat, and Virginia
Spears.
