History:

Formed on November 18, 1880, IFA is the organizing body of football in Northern Ireland. IFA regulated the game in the North, and all results obtained by the Irish national side and records in the Irish Football League and the cup competition stood as Northern Irish records. IFA used to be the organizing body for the sport across all of Ireland, however, in 1921, the Football Association of Ireland was set up to regulate the game in the entire country. IFA, nevertheless, continues to hold position on the International Football Association Board. It also continues to be responsible for running the Northern Ireland national football team.
