What used to be a sport that was played only in the United Kingdom, shuffleboard is now being enjoyed by people of all ages in the USA and Canada. For about 25 years now, the International Shuffleboard Association has been working to promote the sport across the globe. Established in March 10, 1979 in St. Petersburg, Florida, the association has come a long way in promoting international competition in the shuffleboard. Association members have diligently traveled all the way to Australia and Zimbabwe to promote the sport. Their efforts, fortunately, bore fruits, as the association became successful in including Australia, Zimbabwe, and Brazil in its roster of member countries. To date, the association is conducting more intensive promotional efforts, as they have been touring Japan, Australia, Ireland, Brazil, and Denmark.
